Hurricane Season gets underway June 1 and forecasters are predicting this year will be a busier than average with up to 19 named storms. The National Weather Service Office, which has an office in League City, has created a downloadable hurricane guide for the 2020 season. The NWS Houston-Galveston office has also put together a hurricanes hazards and forecast video. Watch below.

If you haven’t already, now is the time to prepare your hurricane kit, or if you already have one, make sure to add COVID related items including masks, hand sanitizer, and sanitizing wipes. For a complete listing of everything you need in your kit visit https://www.ready.gov/kit.

It’s also time to prepare a family emergency plan and decide on a meeting place if you get separated.
