Prospective candidates for League City's Council elections have until 5 p.m. Monday, August 20 to file with the League City Secretary’s office.
A general election for the City of League City will be held on November 6 to elect a mayor and council members for positions 1, 2, 6, and 7 for a four-year term each. A date for a run-off election, if needed, is set for December 18.
All forms needed to file for candidacy including: 1.) Application for Place on the General Election Ballot; 2.) Appointment of a Campaign Treasurer by a Candidate; and 3.) Code of Fair Campaign Practices are included in an online “Election Candidates Packet” posted here. Filing fees are $100 for mayor candidates and $50 for council member candidates. A petition in lieu of a filing fee must include at least 71 signatures to be verified/certified by the City Secretary.
