The League City Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 205 W. Saunders St. shortly before 7 a.m. today.
Crews arriving on-scene found the house engulfed in flames.
The fire was under control within 30 minutes; however, the house was a total loss.
“Quick response times save lives,” said League City Fire Marshal, Tommy Cones. “Firefighters were on-scene within a matter of moments and their actions helped minimize the impact to surrounding houses.”
A female was transported to University of Texas Medical Branch – Galveston for treatment of injuries sustained from the fire. Three of the individual’s dogs are alive well; the fourth is still missing.
Webster Fire Department, League City Emergency Medical Services and the League City Police Department also responded to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
