Multi-agency Search for Missing Boater

League City Communications received an emergency call this evening at 6:16 p.m. regarding a possible drowning. Witnesses observed a 47-year-old Friendswood man jump from his moving boat while in Clear Creek near the north end of Palomino Street.  The remaining two occupants on the boat, the man’s 10-year-old son and his 9-year-old friend, turned the boat around and began summoning help.  The man was not wearing a floatation device at the time.

League City Police Department's Marine Unit, League City Fire Department, League City EMS, Webster Fire Department, Nassau Bay Marine Unit, Baytown Rescue/Dive Unit and Texas Parks and Wildlife have assisted in the search and rescue efforts with multiple boats on the water.

The scene continues as an active search and recovery. An update will be provided.
