League City Police Department’s social worker, Stephanie Jones, has teamed up with Clear View High School Cosmetology Instructor Kristi Foret to teach the young women and men in the Cosmetology Program about domestic violence recognition in future clients.
“The Cut It Out Program provides a unique opportunity for young people to learn about domestic violence recognition, one they would not normally receive training on,” stated Jones.
On April 5, Jones will bring the “Cut It Out” Program created by Professional Beauty Association to The View Salon at Clear View High School as a way to enhance the skills teens receive in the high school program. The Cut It Out Program trains salon professionals to recognize the warning signs of abuse and how to safely and confidentially refer victims to local resources for help.
“Empowering our students to recognize and report domestic violence is not only valuable in their professional development; it’s a skill they can use in their personal lives as well,” stated Foret
