League City Police Department’s Crime Victim Services division is hosting a family-friendly event Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center. The event is part of a week-long national initiative that highlights the importance of early intervention and victim services in establishing trust with victims, which in turn begins to restore their hope for healing and recovery.
The League City Police Department has organized a community-wide event that boasts something for everyone. In addition to health and wellness resources for adults, there will be K9 demonstrations, a fire truck, face painting, a clown, and balloon animals. Food will be donated by Chick-fil-A and HEB. Free haircuts for kids will be provided by Angelica L Salon professionals.
“As a community, we need to recognize that the successful recovery of our crime victims directly contributes to the health and success of our community,” stated Stephanie Jones, League City Police Department Crime Victims’ Liaison.
