The History Club The History Club invites one speaker per month on selected Monday evenings to discuss local history and Texas history topics. Attendance can be in-person or via ZOOM. Dates: June 7, July 12th (in-person or via Zoom) Time: 7:00-8:00 PM Ages: For all ages June 7 – Tales of Juneteenth-The Absolute Equality Mural Local historian Sam Collins III, the co-chair of The Juneteenth Legacy Project, will tell the story of the project and their work to create a massive 5,000 square feet public art mural honoring the importance of Juneteenth to the entire nation. July 12 – Tales of the Tall Ship ELISSA A staff member from The Galveston Historic Seaport will relate the story of the tall ship Elissa. The Elissa is a three-masted barque launched in 1877 and is one of the oldest ships still sailing today. She is a designated National Historic Landmark. RSVP
