February 21, 2020, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Helen Hall Library - Susan Mathews Theater
Parents of children with special needs or whose education calls for accommodations are welcome to come join our discussion group at the library. Darla Rance, a librarian at Helen Hall Library and parent of an adult deaf son, will be the moderator. Parents and caregivers of all ages of children all the way from diagnosis to adulthood are encouraged to come be a part of this group. Discussions will be informal and be focused on sharing our experiences and strategies for what has been effective or not as productive for the different families. We will share book ideas (inspirations or helpful titles that were invaluable along the way), successes, failures and any other information people feel comfortable talking about. Our children are children first, not a diagnosis or label that has been given. This group will be a casual and safe place to add your voice to as you feel comfortable.
