The City of League City recently selected Shashi Kris Kumar to serve as the new City Engineer beginning Jan. 9.

In this position, Kumar will be responsible for the administration and operations of the city’s Engineering Department to include the annual capital improvement program, traffic engineering and development services, project management, and land development related activities.  He will also oversee the department’s annual operating budget and employees.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to serve as City Engineer for League City, contribute towards its progressive growth, and further enhance its reputation for providing excellent customer service,” said Kumar.

“Mr. Kumar brings more than 20 years of municipal engineering experience to League City,” said Gabriel Menendez, Director of Public Works.  “As our new City Engineer, Mr. Kumar will help bring our Capital Improvement Program to fruition and advance the engineering of our land development programs.  We welcome Mr. Kumar to our family.”
