Council members take oath of office

The City of League City officially held a swearing-in ceremony for three council members on Nov. 22.

City Secretary, Diana Stapp, administered the oath of office to returning council member Todd Kinsey, and incoming council members, Larry Millican and Greg Gripon, after City Council passed a resolution canvassing the returns of the General Election held on Nov. 8.

Millican was elected to Council Position 3 with 16,493 votes.  His wife, Monica, was by his side as he was officially sworn in.

“I’m thankful and humbled to serve our city,” said Millican.  “It was a tremendous ride to get here and I will serve League City to the best of my ability.”

Kinsey was re-elected to Council Position 4 with 15,535 votes.  His wife, Heather, was by his side as he was officially sworn in. He was also re-appointed to serve as the city’s Mayor Pro Tem on Nov. 22.

“I’m honored and humbled to have been re-elected to City Council,” said Kinsey.  “I look forward to serving the residents of League City throughout the next four years.”

Gripon was elected to Council Position 5 with 16,220 votes.  His wife, Latonnia, and, son, Justin, were by his side as he was officially sworn in.

“This is an exciting day for [our] family,” said Gripon.  “I’m excited to be your voice on council and will work together with everyone to move the city forward.”

Family members and numerous community residents were in attendance.

All will serve a four-year unexpired term ending in November 2020.
