League City seeks suggestions for time capsule

The City of League City is celebrating a major milestone - reaching 100,000 residents!

The celebration includes the burying of a 50-year time capsule at Hometown Heroes Park on Dec. 29.

Interested in making your mark in League City’s history?

League City residents are encouraged to submit ideas on what to include in the time capsule by Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. Ideally, submissions should reflect the community and life within League City. All submissions will be compiled and a committee will review the list for final determination on contents for the time capsule.

Time capsule dimensions are 18.6 inches by 16.6 inches by 9.3 inches.

Residents are also invited to add a message or their signature to League City posters posted in the Helen Hall Library, Hometown Heroes Park and City Hall beginning Dec. 16. The signed posters will be added to the time capsule prior to its planting.

Civic organizations are welcome to submit a group photo of current members. Photos submitted must include the names of all individuals in the picture on the back of the photo with the date the photo was taken and the organizational name. Photos may be dropped off at City Hall, Attention: Communications Department, 300 West Walker, League City, Texas, 77573.

Submit your ideas at https://leaguecity.wufoo.com/forms/time-capsule-idea-submission-form/.

Contact the League City Communications Department at (281) 554-1025 for more information.
