3, and 4 of the L. W. Fitzsimmons Subdivision, generally located north of
Walker Street, south of Main Street (FM 518), east of Texas Avenue and west of
Egret Bay Boulevard (FM 270), with the approximate address being 108 Texas
Avenue in League City, Texas.

Approval of Minutes

Shane Hamilton motioned to approve the minutes.
James Brockway seconded the motion.
Motion passed 5-0-0.

A discussion was held regarding the buffer.
A discussion was held regarding the zoning of the
surrounding properties.
Dale Hardy spoke on behalf of the applicant regarding
the size of the building – it will be approx. 5,000 square feet, not 17,000
square feet.
Shane Hamilton motioned to recommend approval of Zone
Change Application, Z14-09 (Red River BBQ).
James Brockway seconded the motion.
The motion passed 5-0-0.
IV.
New Business
A.
Consider and take action on a Preliminary/Final
Plat – Dickinson ISD Education Village, generally located north of FM
517, east of Tallow Forest subdivision and west of Bay Colony West subdivision.
Ryan Granata presented for the City of League City.
A discussion was held regarding the tree disposition
study.
The commission wanted to make sure any removed caliper
inches would be replaced according to regulation.
There are actually additional caliper inches to be
replaced than what were removed.
The City Arborist did approve the tree disposition
plan as submitted.
A question was raised if the school district had to
meet the same requirements as a non-governmental agency.
Yes, they have to meet the same requirements and
regulations.
Ron Wicker motioned to approve Preliminary / Final Plat
– Dickinson ISD Education Village.
James Brockway seconded the motion.
The motion passed 5-0-0.
V.
Staff Comments
A.
Ordinance Amendments
Richard Werbiskis presented for the City of League
City. The City staff is working diligently on updating ordinances for Group
Homes and coming up with definitions for the various group home facilities as
well as allowable locations in the city for the various group homes. This
is all in accordance with Fair Housing and the State of Texas regulations. The
public hearing is tentatively scheduled for the first meeting of February to
allow time to meet the notification requirements.
B.
Commercial Development Report
Richard Werbiskis forwarded the building department
monthly report on to the commissioners so that they are aware of new projects
and their various stages of development. This report captures projects that
have building permits.
